The Pretty Pretty Windows

Anthropologie 2011
My trips to the mall are very interesting. I don't really frequent malls, it's probably because I worked in them for years! Even though I always refer to my post traumatic stress caused by my retail career, I just can't stop myself from literally conducting a 'store visit' and reviewing the stores. I look at every element but the most important element for me is always the merchandising and The Windows. I absolutely love windows, they are the snapshot to the customers walking by your store. mental note: I love them so much that I think I'll start Window Wednesdays. yeah. so look out for that... Which finally bring me to the subject of today's blog, New York Holiday Windows. They are all so beautiful and bursting with holiday spirit. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!

Anthropologie's holiday windows at its store in New York's Chelsea neighborhood explore how sound and music conjure feelings of nostalgia during the holiday season. Musical instruments play key narrators in two scenarios: the first is of carolers around a vintage piano and the second scenario depicts party-goers gathering around vintage phonograph.

DDI named Macy’s Herald Square as the first-place Platinum Award winner in the annual Winning Windows Manhattan holiday retail window competition. This year, Macy’s windows celebrate wishes and dreams. Macy’s has partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and created celebrity ornaments whose proceeds help support the charity.
